31 Weeks.

How far along: 31 weeks, 6 days
Maternity clothes: Yes
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: Still sleeping pretty well... thinking I might need to invest in more pillows though. They're nice to use to sandwich myself between since I can only sleep on my side.
Best moment this week: Ok, best & scariest moment this week was having my doctors appointment. Now that I'm in my 3rd trimester I have to go every 2 weeks for a check-up. First thing I asked the doctor when I saw her was if they did an ultrasound in the 3rd trimester... her response "No, not unless there's something to be concerned about and we want to check the baby"... then she proceeds to finish the appointment by measuring my belly & says "You know what, I think we'll schedule that ultrasound for the next time you come in"   ummmm huh? Apparently my little babe is measuring a wee bit small (according to my stomach size) & they want to check her measurements on an ultrasound. What made me feel better though is that when we listened to her little heartbeat it was completely normal and she started kicking the doppler machine that was on my stomach. Really not too concerned at this point but now I'm just anxious to see our little baby next week!
Miss anything: Fitting into my skinny jeans... oh someday {sigh}
Morning sickness: None
Movement: We definitely have one active little lady! Funniest moment this week was when I took my little sister out for a Sonic date... we were driving and little baby Sophie was kicking like crazzzzy & my stomach was moving all over. My little sister looked at my stomach, saw it moving and gasped "whoaaa!!" then we both started cracking up. So funny to see her expression.
Symptoms: A few leg cramps, achy back, and the latest... a little bit of swollen feet! ahhh true prego symptoms!
Food cravings: Popsickles & grapes!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Stupid frozen dinners & microwaveable anything
Have you started to show yet: Oh yes. In fact, I went swimming this week and as I was signing in this guy walked by and said "I hope you're signing in for 1 1/2!"  (nice one random guy)
Gender prediction: A little lady love
Labor signs: Not yet
Belly button in or out: Still in between status... looks completely flat.
Wedding rings on or off: On but getting snug!
Happy or Moody most of the time: O.m.g... if there is a "total hot mess" status, that would be me. I've been on a complete roller coaster this week. I feel bad for my husband- sorry babe!
Looking forward to: Finishing putting the nursery together... to see the latest update on
our nursery ----> see here<3

Nursery Room Progress.

Just a quick glimpse into the progress of our nursery...
The color theme I chose for the nursery is a light grey & white with light pink accents.
I've been loving chevron stripes lately and I really wanted to attempt to paint them in the nursery.

I love home improvement projects and anything to do with painting. It's so fun to see a room transform!
I have to admit when I told my husband my plans for the nursery I think he was a bit skeptical but thankfully he had faith in me & helped me get to work.

First things first we painted the soon to be "chevron wall" a fresh coat of bright white

then let it dry for a few days. Then I did a little bit of online research on how to paint chevron stripes.

Thankfully there are about a bajillion websites & blogs with "DIY Chevron Stripes" tutorials...
I followed this fab one ---->  How to Paint Chevron Stripes
And also this creative one ---->  Painting Multicolored Chevron Stripes

The easiest method I could find was to sketch a grid format of your wall for where you want the stripes to be. You can choose large or small stripes... I chose medium size.
(for a more detailed "how to" on making the grid - check out the blog links)

Here's my little diagram drawing:

Then I used snap chalk to make marks on the wall, both length & width,  for perfect grid lines.

Here's how the grid turned out... it's a very faint blue grid but awesome as a guideline for taping.

Then I got to work taping the wall.

Here's a close up picture of the grid lines and tape.

All finished and ready for some painting...

Before I painted the wall I took the white color and painted the edges where the grey would touch for a better seal. This helped eliminate grey seeping underneath the tape.

Then I painted two coats of grey and let it sit for about an hour.

I took the tape off before it was completely dry to help with any chipping.
Advice: pull tape slowly!

Then I took a damp towel and gently rubbed off the blue chalk.
Thankfully it came off really easily and didn't leave any residue.

Here's the finished product!

I couldn't be more excited with how the wall turned out. I've pretty much deemed it my favorite room in the house so far... Now I can't wait to get the crib in there and really start putting the room together!

Current project: sewing the baby bedding... pictures soon to come!

29 Weeks.

How far along: 29 weeks, 6 days
Maternity clothes: Yes but surprisingly I can still {snugly} fit into a few of my shirts... and then I finally got smart & started using the belly band so that I could wear a few of my old jeans.
Stretch marks: Not yet but I feel like my belly is getting huuuge! Lately I've been using coconut oil & love it. I know there are lots of other prego & mommy friends out there- any other suggestions?
Sleep: Looove my sleep- I'm an absolute zombie without it! It's hard to only be able to sleep on my side right now though- I usually wake up in the middle of the night because my hips hurt and then have to switch sides.
Best moment this week: Having a healthy baby doctor appt! They also got my glucose test back and they said it came back a little low... meaning I definitely don't have gestational diabetes or anemia but I do need to try to eat more- just what a pregnant lady wants to hear right??
Miss anything: My motivation for working out! I think about it and I used to plan each day around getting a workout in in some way or another... now if  I can have enough energy to workout even 2-3 times a week that feels like a huuuge success. I can't wait to put that jogging stroller to use come this fall though! Already on the lookout for a few races to sign up for next year....
Morning sickness: None.
Movement:Yes- lots of kicks & somersaults! She's definitely been more active lately. There's usually a late night dance party in my belly around 3am- I don't mind the company since I'm usually up working at that time anyways... I keep telling my husband that if she's going to continue to be this active when she comes out then we are SO going to have our hands full. If you know my husband, this should be no surprise.
Symptoms: Still a few mild foot cramps but I'm at the point now where I'm starting to feel achy all over... thinking it might be time to visit the my little friend -the chiropractor- soon
Food cravings: Popsicles & rainbow chip frosting- o.m.g. delish
Anything making you queasy or sick: Still anything microwaved & those dang frozen dinners.
Have you started to show yet: Oh yes.
Gender prediction: Girl
Labor signs: No but I've been thinking a lot about it lately & I'm getting so nervous/excited for when it does happen
Belly button in or out: I'm going to say in between... it looks completely flat {kind of funny looking to be honest}
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy & moody & just plain prego emotional status... We rented "The Vow" the other night and at the end of the movie I was totally sobbing. Grant looked at me, laughed a bit and said "Ummm babe, why are you crying?" I really had no reason,  just prego I guess!
Looking forward to: Making the baby bedding & putting the room together! I've been a little MIA on the good'ol bloggity blog but let me tell you we have been SO productive these past couple of weeks. We completely painted the baby room (ahhh love it!) and I JUST got the material in that I ordered for the bedding! Can't wait to share some nursery pictures soon!

Baby Shower: Bun in the Oven Theme

I can't believe it's already that time for a baby shower!! It really hit me when we decided to start registering for gifts... I kept thinking- "Wait, I just found out I was pregnant! Where did the time go??" Which in turn got me sooo unbelievably excited and anxious to meet our little lady AND started to stress me out because I kept thinking of all the things we still need to do. I keep telling myself  "One day at a time..."

I really couldn't have been more excited to share such a special day with my friends and family.
I absolutely {heart} throwing parties (with the fantasy of having a party planning business someday)... So when my two best friends wanted to get the planning started I was all in!

We decided to go with the theme
"Bun In The Oven"

I found some cute invitations from Etsy.com. I loved the idea of having the creator/seller custom make my invitation and send me the PDF file to have printed where my little heart desired.

Here's an example of the invite...

(**just FYI: Costco is my favorite place! They have a great deal on printing invitations. It has to be 6 x 7 1/2 size and you can upload your own personal invite on their website! Best part is that it's only $15 to order 50 invitations AND they come with envelopes for mailing. Smokin' dealio)
Here's a link to this sellers Etsy shop ---> Tipsy Graphics
She has lots of other sweet party ideas and invites!

Here's how the rest of the party turned out...

{the oven I made to go with the theme}

A little watermelon fruit carriage

A little baby game where the bags spelled out "BABY SOPHIA". Each bag had a different letter on it and you had to guess the baby item that was in each bag starting with that letter. Example "B" = bottle

A fun little mad libs fill in the blank "advice" for me & Grant. These turned out to be hilarious!

Here's a preview of the blank sheet
(also made by the fabulous etsy lady who designed my invitations!)

My amazing hostesses & best friends (who are both prego too!)

These were the shower favors...

{sign & favor tags were (again) compliments of etsy}

The favors were little take out boxes with a mini cinnamon roll inside.

We got the recipe for the mini cinnamon rolls off Pinterest (See Here) - not only are they delish, they only take 8 minutes to bake!

It was such a great day spent with truly fantastic people. I feel so incredibly blessed and thankful to have such amazing friends and family in our lives! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it and those who sent their best wishes- we love you all so much!
